About

Love and Sandwiches.

Welcome to the new incarnation of the original Charismatic Megafauna.

I’m Quiconque, your humble author. I’m a New Yorker, born and bred in the Bronx. I’ve had many jobs: archaeological assistant, library clerk, brokerage clerk, teacher, tutor, researcher, editor, retail associate, and secretary. I am locked in a life and death struggle with my doctoral dissertation in anthropology. I am exploring the brand new world of internet dating. I am beginning to get the hang of driving. I am almost always on a diet, and therefore am almost always hungry.  (Pie is my lover and my enemy).

I am a braggart and a buffoon, a pedant and a plebe. I am an intellectual. I am a trickster. I am always thinking, planning, scheming, and strategizing. I am almost always making fun of something or someone, oftentimes myself. I am ambitious and lazy. I am a Marxist who likes to own nice things. I am a feminist.

I like whiskey.

I am an urban girl who loves city life. For me, nature is where they dump the bodies. Despite the name of this blog, I am not a big fan of animals in the home. My childhood pets were fish, and when they committed fish suicide by jumping out the tank, one by one, we didn’t have the heart to replace them. I am nevertheless fascinated by animals and love them in the abstract. This blog is where I talk about some of the most charismatic megafauna I have met, especially the bipedal variety.

Older entries from the Diaryland blog can be accessed here.

I can also be found on MySpace.
